Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, Brooklyn is a graduate from NC State University, with two bachelor’s degrees in architecture and a minor in landscape architecture. She has served for two years as the director of the university’s Freedom By Design team, which is an organization that uses the talents of architecture students to radically impact the lives of people in their community through modest design and construction solutions. They designed and completed the building of the Accessible Outdoor Learning Center on the Governor Morehead School campus. Brooklyn has a passion for diversity inclusion and designing for the user not the designer, making sure to ask, rather than make assumptions when improving an area meant for others. The Governor Morehead Foundation board is pleased to have her energy and enthusiasm for serving the GMS student body.
