Board Members

William Tubilleja

Member, Parent Community Committee

William is an Orientation and Mobility Specialist at GMS.  His last name is Filipino and is pronounced “two bee yay ha”.  He grew up in Las Vegas, NV but moved to NC with his wife and two children in 2004 to take a position with the former GMS Outreach Program. Since then, they have added a couple of dogs and cats to their family and he also worked for NC DPI in the EC Division. William has always been involved in various ways with the VI community locally and statewide for both professional and community reasons. He feels like it is part of his responsibility as a professional teacher, in this field, to give back and participate in the VI community. That is why William appreciates the opportunity to chair the GMS Parent Community Program/Committee and serve as a non-voting board member of the GMS Foundation. William sees the GMS as a place with so much potential and he wants to play his part in helping it reach its potential as a school, a resource, a community that touches all persons with VI in our state.
