Why Your Donation Matters
Bridging the past, excelling in the present, and brightening the vision for tomorrow. A quality education is the universal right of every child, regardless of his or her sensory limitations. The Governor Morehead School for the Blind is the public, residential school for students who are blind or visually impaired serving students from kindergarten through high school. Research shows that students who participate in extracurricular activities have improved academic performance, develop higher self-esteem, create and participate in social opportunities, and develop essential life skills. The students at Governor Morehead School are no exception, and they involve themselves in many extracurricular opportunities. When students are successful, everyone wins—the student, the parents, the educators, the school district, the employer, the taxpayer, and the country.
