Rod Poole Award – Link Here
For many years, Rod Poole served as an orientation and mobility instructor at the Governor Morehead School for the Blind. His work went beyond teaching students how to navigate the school campus; he also helped them navigate the world beyond Raleigh, NC.
Mr. Poole’s impact, however, extended far beyond mobility instruction. He was deeply dedicated to his students, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and become the individuals they aspired to be. His genuine care and passion for their success guided students toward becoming independent and model citizens.
This scholarship is awarded to a trainer, teacher, staff member, volunteer, or community member who exemplifies the same dedication, care, and commitment that Mr. Poole demonstrated. The recipient’s support and influence should be clearly reflected in the ways students respond to and benefit from their guidance.
