The Governor Morehead School for the Blind (GMS) continues to respond to the needs of our students, families, and community amidst the fallouts of COVID-19. As the effects of the pandemic increase, we are seeking financial help from our community to support our families in need.

As we continue to connect with our students, it is becoming more apparent that the effects of COVID-19 are greatly impacting our families significantly. Our families come from all over the state of North Carolina and have varying resources available to help with food and financial assistance. Like the rest of the country, due to COVD-19, our students and families are coping with the stress of the pandemic, loss in wages, food shortages, and an increase in the responsibility for learning for their child with a visual impairment or blindness. As this event continues week by week, the needs of our families increase greatly. Your contributions at this time would significantly support our families in need and allow our students the ability to continue their education.
